"There is nothing quite the same as sitting with a real book in your hands. Breathing in the ink and feeling all those wonderful lives beneath your fingertips. In between the pages I'm an emperor, an adventurer. A warrior and a wanderer. In between the pages, I am not myself -- and more myself than any other place on earth." - Jay Kristoff

I've been an avid reader since I was 9 years old. Books have become a vital part of my life and most of my art journey has been inspired by books that I've read.

Most of my paintings, while not entirely a direct representation what I've read, reflects snippets of what I've experienced from reading a book. Whether it's a certain visual on the world created by the author, a fictional character or simply a relatable quote.

I have a journal dedicated to jotting down notes about a certain book I am reading, in it I write down what I loved and didn't like about them, or sometimes just gush over a certain scene. Here I created a more graphic representation of my list of books that I've read this 2019. Since the year has just begun, as you can see, the shelves are empty of titles. but I cannot wait to fill it up! This type of data entry was inspired by my fellow book lovers that I follow on Instagram.

I also love reflecting on certain quotes written by authors that helps me look at life in a more positive view. I love how each author can impart hope, love and courage to a reader. So I have a lot of book quotes saved up to create entries on my journals.

This journal insert is very much dedicated to book-inspired spreads. I used the Spring Farmhouse collection by Frank Garcia and a bunch items from the Pretty Pale collection and Amelia Rose decorative paper as well, plus one Poetic Rose journal card that I really like. That's one of the best things I love about Prima products, they can work with pretty much any of the other collections and the designs don't clash. Makes creating journaling spreads so much easier and so much fun.
