Papillon Delight!

Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.

Un papillon…a butterfly, is one of the most beautiful embellishments to add to a project! They are light and beautiful, mysterious;y free, and so full of life. After challenging our team to come up with creative ways to interpret today’s theme we have a ready-made Prima butterfly, a stamped butterfly, a die-cut butterfly , one cut with a file, AND a full-on butterfly-shaped project!

“This is my new canvas, “Mechanical Butterfly”, created with the gorgeous Pretty Pale collection and the amazing Finnabair’s Moulds. I am totally in love with both of them !!! The new moulds are so perfect for creating gorgeous and precious embellishments with such perfect details !  I mixed them with some flowers and Finnabair’s Art Ingredients. I cut the butterfly shape into the Pretty Pale 12x12 Sheet - Recounting the Days and fussy cut some leaves on the Pretty Pale 12x12 Sheet - Pretty in Pale . I used one of the amazing butterfly of the Pretty Pale Flowers - Mystical Flight set. I added colors with some Finnabair’s Metallique Paints. “ ~ Nathalie

Prima - 03 - Butterfly.jpg

“I always loved butterflies. They are the symbol of things that change, that evolve. Family is something that change over time. I’m lucky enough to still have my parents near me, and I’m grateful for that every day. But when I had kids, the meaning of family changed, for me. That’s why I chose this picture of me with my parents and my kids. As for my creation itself, I hand drew and cut a butterfly shape on a 12x12 chipboard piece. I then covered it with white gesso and some white crackle texture paste. Next, I used some Color Blooms and Water Soluble Oil Pastels to add some color. I tried to chose colors to match my Moon Child paper. Some flowers and some Art Ingredients complete my creation.” ~ Karine

“There is just something about butterflies that always makes a project beautiful. On this layout I used Misty Rose papers and cut them out with a Silhouette to create the fluttering beauties going up my page.” - Anita

"Love this theme we have up on the blog today. I just adore butterflies and use them on almost every project I make. I created a layout featuring the stunning Moon Child collection. I have added some paper texture paste to my background with a stencil. I then added a few die cut butterflies and the very big butterfly on the left of my page was cut using my Silhouette (design ID 90303). I decided to place my photo (via Pinterest) in the centre of the page and so I have decorated around it with lots of gorgeous Prima flowers, pixie vines, chipboard pieces which have been painted with metallique and opal magic paints, metal trinkets, enamel stickers and flat back pearls. I added some pretty paint splatters and sequins for the finishing touch." - Tanya
